The Wonderful Woman

The real reason I started blogging was because I was reading this blog a very nice lady has callled, Sue Elvis Writes, that is the blog, not the lady. She is a wonderful writer and has made me want to write like she does, I know it sounds silly that I could write as well as she does and I know I can't but I wish I could and maybe pretending I can will make me think I can.

I have a big family of five, John, Thomas, Kathrin, Bethany and Fredrick. I am sorry but I will not put pics up, for safty reasons, you understand? It took a lot to even make myself put my kids names up, it was the wonderful lady who encouraged me, was I too bold? Will something happen to my kids now? I wait a minute, Nothing awful has happened. Phew! I am not normally this scared, I wonder what is wrong with me, any ideas?

My husband is a school teacher, though I myself have never even stepped into a school. I was homeschooled and know I am homeschooling my kids. I am thinking of becoming an unschooler though, the marvelous lady again. She knows just how to inspire a woman. She is apsolutally wonderful!

I hope this is not a too long post, is it? I don't know how long posts should be, please tell me.

  1. Ruth,

Oh my! What a big surprise. I popped over to say hello after receiving your kind comment today, and now I am speechless. Can I cry? I don't feel I deserve your kind words at all. But I have this wonderful feeling of joy spreading through me. The last couple of days have been a bit tough. Now I am thinking I must be the most blessed woman in the world.

Your husband is a school teacher? You might know mine is too! And you are thinking about unschooling? Wow! I hope you do try it. It's such a gentle fulfilling way of living and learning. I hope we can share stories.

You will have to share your homeschooling upbringing on your blog. I was never homeschooled although I did do distance learning at one time when we travelled overseas. I find my educational background influences what I want for my own children. I want them to have a better experience than me! I bet you have so many wonderful ideas that you can use with your own children. Second generation homeschoolers... that is so interesting.

By the way, you write beautifully. Already I am excited by your blog and what's to follow. I wrote such a boring first post. Yours is way, way better than mine!

I feel I have just made a new friend. I am looking forward to following your writing adventures (and unschooling ones).

Security? I have just come to the conclusion that if we are doing God's will He will look after us. So I have decided to continue blogging and trust God will protect my children. I'm just finishing a post about this topic. I hope you'll come and read it.

Thank you so much for your very kind words.

    May God bless you!

    1. Sue,
Thank you so much. It was a big suprise to see I had a follower. It makes me feel like I am not writing for nothing!

You are right, thank you. You have made me feel much better about giving away my childrens names. I don't know if I am yet brave enough to give away photos, but I might one day.

Never been homeschooled? What made you homeschool your kids? It must have been hard to start and not know if it would work as well as sending children to school.

Thank you very much for all your encourage mean't it has inspired me a lot.

May God Bless you and your family and husband,

      Ruth

    2. Hi Ruth,

You'll soon gather a few followers and make some blogging friends!

I was never homeschooled but my younger brother was, so I knew all about the options before our children got to school age.

Thank you for your comment on my unschooling blog. I've just been writing a new post and haven't yet had time to reply (I will!) but I thought I'd just mention about followers. Even though I don't have a followers gadget on my Sue Elvis Writes blog you can still follow it. Go to your dashboard and scroll down to the Reading List on the left hand side of the screen. You'll see a button 'add'. Click onto this and then add my blog's url - www.sueelviswrites.com - in the appropriate box. It should be easy! Thank you for wanting to follow my blog!

      God bless!

    3. Sue,
      Thank you!

I never thought it possible to have a homeschooler and a schooler in one family, it must have been strange to go out to school while your brother stayed home and did his work there.

Thanks for telling me, I will go and do that!

      Ruth

  2. Hi Ruth, welcome to blogging! I found you through a link given me by my sister, Sue Elvis and yes, she is a great lady - in real life, too!

I have to agree with her - you write beautifully. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

    1. Vicky,

Thanks. It is hard to start new things without anyone to help and give encourage meant. When I saw that I had two comments I could not believe it.

Sue is lovely. I feel so sorry for her and her son Thomas though, I could not live if someone wrote such a mean comment to me about my children as that person did to Sue.

I will have to have a look at your blog. How wonderful there being two sisters who both like to blog and have their own blogs.

      God Bless you,
      Ruth
