Sorry and my Holiday

I am so sorry I have not been writing for a while! I was very busy unschooling and on holiday. Let me tell you about that holiday, ah yes!

It was a wonderful beach holiday. I spent my days lazing on the beach, eating and relaxing. What a life it was. The children ran around digging and splashing. I could not have asked for a better two weeks.

Issac was not there, he was busy with his work, you can't expect a teacher to be allowed two weeks off in the middle of the term.

The lady who owned the house next door gave us ice creams everyday. The children often went round twice a day in hope that she would offer them another one, she always did.

I decided to let myself have a rest and give the children a treat by buying fast food like Maccers and KFC. It was quite nice. I know I should not have much or I will get fat, but I must say I have taken a fancy to it, which is strange because I never even thought about it before, oh well!

We once went to the cinema and that was fun, well all in all it was one good holiday! I am off to see what everyone wants for dinner, no KFC tonight! Oh well!!!!

Unschooling, Bethany's Point of View

I like unschooling, it is more fun than homeschooling. Most girls would think that they were the same thing or that unschooling is not doing anything. I thought that until Mum told me all about it.

The first day we unschooled was so much fun that we wanted to keep doing it. We made muffins in the morning and then we ate them, they were yummy.

One other day we went to the library and got books. We have been doing heaps of fun things. We did art and more cooking, writing and played games. I am so glad  that Mum heard about unschooling. I hope we keep doing to it forever.

My First Unschooling Day

Today I started unschooling. It went better than I thought possible. I wal into the family room and said to the kids,

"Why don't we not do any of that normal stuff today and go and bake some muffins." Everyone looked up. They could not believe what I had just said, not do maths, english or anything like that? Had I gone crazy?

No I had not gone crazy. I was serious and soon everyone was in the kitchen cooking.  I left them to it and went off to my bed room with the phone in hand. I was owing someone a phone call.

If I had been doing all the normal things I would have had to wait till late in  the afternoon to ring up my friend. I knew that I could depend on John to keep everything under control.

I did not notice the time go by as I talked on the phone. I only relised how long I had been talking when Kate came in with a muffin on a plate and some coffee. I decided that if this was what unschooling was like, I liked it.

I finished off my phone called and went over to everyone in the family room. They were all talking and joking, they were all having fun. I think I will keep on unschooling. What else shall we do as we unschool? What other adventures lie in our path of unschooling? We will have to find out.
